Vision

1. Baan Nontapum (Home for Children With Disabilities):
The home provides appropriate living accomodations according to the physical needs of hte child. Caregivers also live at the home and act as foster parents. Immunizations and basic health care are provided for sick children. For more serious medical conditions, care is coordinated and facilitated with the local hospital.
   
2. Physical Rehabilitation Program:
Physical therapy and rehabilitation are provided under the guidance of medical specialists. Assistive devices are available and given according to individual needs. Surgical intervention to improve physical function are also available. Our goal is to help these children increase their physical capabilities as much as possible to the end of being self-sufficient.
   
3. Education Programs:
  1. Primary education and classes are provided in the home. Less disabled children may attend regular schools outside of Baan Nontapum.
  2. Special education such as schools for the blind or for hearing impaired children are provided according to need.
  3. All children are encouraged to pursue education as much as they are able to do.
   
4. Vocational Training:
  1. Vocational training is given to the children according to their abilities. In-house training as well as attending vocational school outside the residence are available and provided.
  2. The goal is for the children to find work that is appropriate for their physical ability.
   
5. Social Welfare and Career Opportunity:
  1. Personal information is registered and filed individually.
  2. Counseling and guidance for various problems are provided.
  3. Cultural norms and moral values are taught and emphasized in the home.
  4. Employment opporunity, job placement, and career guidance are given according to individual ability. All these programs are designed to prepare our children to become good citizens in society and live independently upon leaving Baan Nontapum.
